Recently, both Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) and Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) have announced their latest flagship 2-In-1 offerings. The new 10.5-inch iPad Pro and the fifth-generation Surface Pro are on the verge of being released which gives us a perfect opportunity to compare the two hybrid devices to conclude which you should be targeting.
Let’s start off with Apple’s latest iPad Pro model. The newly announced tablet sports a 10.5-inch LED-backlit IPS LCD which offers resolution worth 1668 x 2224. The device is powered by the Cupertino-based tech giant’s latest and greatest A10X Fusion chipset which also power the current iPhone model. The tablet offers 4GB worth of RAM and internal storage options which range from a minimum 64GB and shoot up all the way to 512GB. The tablet boasts a 12MP back camera which is complemented by a 7MP front snapper. Furthermore, the device runs on a non-removable Li-Ion battery which manages to provide ten hours of usage on a full charge.
Microsoft’s latest iteration of Surface Pro sports a 12-inch IPS PixelSense display screen which offers resolution worth 2736 x 1824. Powering the 2-in-1 device is Intel’s latest generation Kaby Lake chipset, designed to be both faster at processing data and more efficient at conserving battery life as compared to the previous generation Intel processing chipset. The fifth-generation Surface Pro arrives in a host of RAM options, ranging from a 4GB option to a whopping 16GB alternate. The internal memory options for the laptop cum tablet varies from a standard 128GN option which can be upgraded all the way to 1TB. Furthermore, the device sports an 8MP back camera and a 5MP front snapper.
Judging by the specs, both of the mentioned devices have all the makings which offer full bang for your bucks. However, if you want a true 2-In-1, aka laptop cum tablet experience then you are better off with the Surface Pro.
