Alphabet Inc (NASDAQ:GOOGL) Google again came into the limelight as it was recently reported that the tech giant is gearing up to roll out a significant update for its aging VoIP, Google Voice. The news has ignited excitement among the users since the tech titan hasn’t run any update for Google Voice since it was integrated with Hangouts in 2014.

Google spokesperson, in a statement, wrote: "Sorry, it looks like we must have dialed the wrong number! But don't worry, this wasn't a prank call. We're working on some updates to Google Voice right now. We have you on speed dial, and we'll be sure to share what we've been up to just as soon as we can."

Moreover, it should be noted that the tech giant didn’t reveal any official update about when it is planning to roll out the update or what it might include, but many analysts believe that the company will roll out the update in the coming few weeks. Also, many reports swirling around in the tech space that the tech titan might integrate its Google Voice with its messaging services, such as Allo and Duo, in a bid to differentiate its offering from other market players.

Since the search engine giant does not roll out any update for its VoIP, many analysts believe that users are expecting the company to come up with something innovative and exciting. Also, even though these speculations turns out to be true or not, the main takeaway is that Google is facing a tough task to differentiate its VoIP from its competitor, like Apple Siri. In any case, Google hasn’t rolled out any update for its VoIP; therefore any news is good news at this point.
